AI strategy consulting in Cleveland from an AI strategist who also builds

Most Cleveland companies are already trying AI in small ways. Someone on your team uses ChatGPT on the side. Someone else bought a tool nobody opened after the first week. The ideas pile up because nobody owns the plan.

That's the job of an AI strategist. I look at your business goals, your team, and your numbers, then rank the handful of artificial intelligence moves that will save the most hours or bring in the most money. You get a plain AI strategy with a cost and a payoff next to each step.

Then I build the first wins myself, so the plan turns into working software within weeks. If you mostly want the build side, my page on hiring an AI consultant in Cleveland covers that. This page is about the plan.

What my AI strategy consulting services cover

Where your hours go

We map the work that eats your team's week: quotes, follow-ups, reports, data entry, and phone calls. I sit with your internal teams to watch it happen. The data analysis is simple, mostly counting hours and dollars, and that map is where your AI strategy starts.

Ranked wins, with cost and payoff

Every idea gets a price, an expected payoff, and a place in line. High-value jobs that AI can take over fast go first.

Tool choices

Which AI tools to pay for and which to drop. Plenty of shops already pay for ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot seats that nobody uses well. Sometimes the right AI solution is a feature hiding in the CRM you already own.

Data rules

What your team can put into each tool and what stays out. This is AI governance in plain words, so a new hire can follow it on day one.

A 12-month roadmap

What comes after the first wins, in order, with what each step should save. Later steps might add advanced analytics on your job data once the basics run. We check the plan against real numbers every quarter and reset it as your business changes.

How good AI strategies start with your business strategy

A tool demo shows you one trick, usually the easiest one. A real AI strategy looks at your whole business and decides where to use AI first, and which of the hundred things on your list will pay for itself this year. That means your sales pipeline, your office work, your shop floor, and your customer list, all looked at together.

The order matters more than the tools. A manufacturer with a busy quoting desk gets a different first move than a financial services office buried in client paperwork. So I assess a company's readiness first: how clean the data is, who will own each new tool, and how much change your people can take at once. In a 30-person shop, change management just means your team trusts the first win before you ask them to learn the second.

AI strategy consulting and AI consulting from one person

Strategy decides what to do with AI and in what order. Consulting and building get it done. Most consulting firms split those jobs between two teams, or two invoices. I do both, so the plan and the build come from the same head and nothing gets lost in a handoff.

The strategy work comes first: a few sessions with you and the business stakeholders who run sales, operations, and the books. From those I write actionable strategies with a cost next to each one, tied to business outcomes like hours saved or jobs quoted. Then we pick one and I build it. Things like AI automation for quotes and reports live on my AI consultant in Cleveland page.

AI governance and data rules your team will follow

A plan without rules gets messy once three people are using five different AI tools. So I write the governance piece alongside the roadmap. It covers what data can go into which tool, who checks the output, and when a person has to sign off before anything reaches a customer.

Most of it fits on two pages. Customer records, pricing, and anything under a client contract get clear lines. Good data governance also pays off later, because the analytics and business intelligence reports you build next all pull from the same clean numbers. If you handle health or financial records, we flag that early and loop in your lawyer for anything contractual.

Hiring a full-time AI strategist vs. a part-time tech partner

It's worth pricing out a full-time hire before you rule it out. National salary sites list most full-time AI strategist roles well into six figures before benefits. Add payroll tax and a few months of searching, and that's a big bet for a company that hasn't shipped its first AI tool yet.

Most Cleveland companies under about $20 million in revenue start with a part-time tech partner who does the strategist's job a few hours a week. You get the plan and the first builds without a new line on the org chart. When the AI workload grows enough to justify a full-time hire, I'll help write the job description and sit in on interviews. Look for someone who has shipped real AI projects and has industry knowledge in your field.

If you'd like your staff trained along the way, Cuyahoga Community College offers artificial intelligence courses and professional development classes right here in Cleveland. A class or a certification teaches people the tools. The strategy tells them which job to point those tools at first.

From AI roadmap to AI implementation

The strategy pays off once something ships. After we rank the wins, I build the first one or two myself: a workflow that reads incoming quote requests and drafts a reply, a report that pulls from your job data every morning, or a tool that sorts new leads for your marketing team and business development people before anyone touches them by hand. Each one comes with a simple way to check the numbers, so you can see the hours or dollars it saved.

Newer tools like agentic AI, which can work through a few steps on its own, get a lot of buzz in 2026. I only put them in the plan when a simpler tool can't do the job. Most of the payoff still comes from plain automation, generative AI for drafting, and a little machine learning for sorting and scoring.

You don't need data science or data engineering staff to start. I bring that background. Your part is picking the problems worth solving.

What you get from a Cleveland AI strategist

A ranked AI strategy

Every idea gets a cost, a payoff, and a place in line, so you know what to build first and what to skip.

A one-year AI roadmap

A plain plan for the next 12 months: what to build, what to buy, and what each step should save you.

Governance rules your team follows

Which AI tools your team can use, and what data never goes into them, written so anyone on staff can follow it.

The first wins, built

I build the first part of the plan myself, so it turns into working software and real savings within weeks.

I'm based in Northeast Ohio, and I'm happy to meet at your office anywhere in Greater Cleveland, from downtown and the Flats out to Mentor, Medina, or Solon. I'll walk your floor and talk with your team. Most of the weekly work happens over video after that.

Proof, not promises

My client sites have brought one American manufacturer $23 million in sales leads. For another, my site helped close a $10 million deal with a Fortune 100 company. I also use AI every day in my own business to write reports and draft outreach.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost? +

We start with the Tech Audit. It's two weeks and one flat price. You get a ranked list of AI wins and a one-year plan. If we keep working together, the full audit price comes off your first month.

Does an AI strategy make sense for a manufacturer or service company? +

Yes. Most of my clients run manufacturing floors, service trucks, and small offices. Their best ways to use artificial intelligence tend to be boring ones: faster quotes, fewer hours on paperwork, and follow-ups that go out on time.

Do I need clean data before we start? +

No. Part of the readiness check is finding out how messy your data really is. Usually a few fixes to your CRM or job tracking are enough to get going, and those fixes go on the roadmap like any other step.

When should I hire a full-time AI strategist? +

Once the AI work would fill a full week, every week. Until then, a part-time tech partner costs a fraction of a salary. When the time comes, you'll hire with a clear job description and a roadmap already in hand.
